Don’t have an activation key and can’t get your Windows XP to update? 
This will solve your problem!
These are instructions on how to crack the latest version of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 that uses the registration key: JD3T2-QH36R-X7W2W-7R3XT-DVRPQ.
This will allow you to bypass the Microsoft Genuine Validation thingy
This method works better than many others I’ve tried before. Forget the cracks and injectors, etc. Those are constantly picked up by your anti-virus programs as viruses. This is the BEST WAY:
1) start > run > “regedit” (without the quotes of course)
2) go to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents\OOBETimer
…and double-click on it. Then change some of the value data to ANYTHING ELSE…delete some, add some letters, I don’t care…just change it!
now close out regedit.
3) go to start > run > “%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a” (again, don’t type the quotes)
4) the activation screen will come up, click on register over telephone, then click on CHANGE PRODUCT KEY, enter in this key: JG28K-H9Q7X-BH6W4-3PDCQ-6XBFJ.
Don’t worry about anything else. just close out and your done.

ok i went to that system root shit n they say tht windows is already activated…does that mean that my xp product is a genuine one…
this really work i did it to my computer and it worked
I have used the following in the past. Works like a dream and requires fewer steps. It is the basic concept of the previous thread.
======================================
start menu/run/ type “regedit” and press enter,
this will take you to the registry editor
now follow this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/WPAEvents
when you get to WPAEvents in the righthand collum there should be “OOBETimer”
right click it and go to “modify”
Change the numbers in there to :
FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F d5 33 93 FD (this works with windows xp home and pro, both 32 and 64bit versions)
when you’ve entered them right click on the file “WPAEvents” and go into “permissions”
in there highlight “SYSTEM” and underneith it check the two boxes under “deny” and click “OK”

The first solution didn’t work for me as I was told it was an invalid number. I then clicked on validate by internet and was told that it had been validated successfully
